What is a Fab Lab?
Fab Labs are part of a global network of fabrication laboratories that provides widespread access to modern means of digital fabrication. The Making Rooms is a member of the global Fab Lab Network and as such members are required to follow the Fab Charter.
Responsibilities
You are responsible for: cleaning up after yourself; safe use of equipment; treating other users and staff with respect; not damaging equipment; reporting faults immediately to staff.
Intellectual Property
Designs and processes developed in Fab Labs can be protected by IP of your choosing, but should be accessible for Fab Labs to use for education, and cannot be used to harm others.
Commercial Activities
Commercial activities can be undertaken in a Fab Lab, but they should not conflict with other uses; must be shared with the Fab Lab; and should not use the Fab Lab as a means of private commercial production.
Cleanliness
Please leave machines and workspaces clean and tidy after each session. You are responsible for clearing up any mess you make. Failure to do so may result in your membership being suspended.
